MLK Weekend 2024

GP Remembrance is collaborating with the GP Theater Department and RCC’s Diversity Programming Committee to present a weekend of events for our community!

Martin Luther King Jr. Community Gathering

Saturday, January 13 at 4:30 pm

Performing Arts Center at the Grants Pass High School

This year our theme is Ordinary People.

We’ll highlight the ways that ordinary people inspired the Civil Rights Movement as we know it today, and the way ordinary people continue to do extraordinary things all around us in our community!

Immediately following the program in the PAC, there will be a Community Group Fair in the GPHS Cafeteria, in addition to food vendors benefiting Students Groups at GPHS.

Nonprofits, organizations, and community groups from throughout Josephine County will be present at the Community Group Fair – this will be an opportunity for us to engage with the good work that is being done throughout our community, both in volunteering and in resource sharing among our neighbors!

Here’s just some of the groups that will be represented at the Community Group Fair:

Josephine County Library, Grants Pass Museum of Art, Rogue Community College, Wildlife Images, Josephine County Food Bank, Community Alliance of Tenants, Hearts With A Mission, Legacy GP, Equity Project, and Max’s Mission! There will be more!

Much thanks to the following who are sponsoring this GPR event:

FourWay Foundation, AllCare, Grants Pass Museum of Art, Roe Motors, and to our ongoing partners is this Sunrise Community work: The Hivve, Bolt Grafix, and Orion Graphics!

Finally, we’re looking for some ordinary people to help make this event happen, especially day-of needs: set-up, clean-up, greeters and ushers, etc. Whether you’re solo or a family/friend group, we look forward to living out this “ordinary people” theme this MLK weekend with you. 🙂

On behalf of the GP Remembrance team,

Thank you & Happy Holidays to you all!!
